Different cultures and female urination.

According to the anatomy of female urinary system, the urine orifice is covering by vaginal lips. So the urine stream has to open the labia and go through the vaginal opening by pressuring. In this case there is a big chance for dribbling and getting wet the lower pelvic region of the body if women urinate standing up without any action for opening the vaginal lips properly.  When squatting to urinate, the part of wetting is small even dribbles the urine.  That is the most common reason for women to urinate squatting in many cultural environments. Other considerable reason is female clothing. Whether wearing or not wearing an underwear is an important fact too, because it is easy to urinate without wetting the underwear when squatting to urinate. In most of cultural backgrounds women are not urinating in public very often. However in rural areas of some Asian countries, public urinating of women is not rare. Sometimes they urinate standing up too. Most of women who urinate standing up are not wearing under wears and that reason may encourage them to urinate while standing up. Women urinate standing up mostly in outdoor even in rural areas. Urinate standing up incidents are rare when women are using toilets. Women who are living in rural areas are frequently urinating in outdoor compared to women who are living in urban areas. In some of cultures, urinate standing up of women is considering as unpleasant too.  However there are some important reasons for women to urinate standing up in any cultural environment, some of them are hygienic reasons.  On the other hand sports women, especially women who are hiking may have to pee while standing on some of occasions. Beside everything the most important fact is avoiding the urinary difficulties. That is why women must have some other options except squatting to urinate.
